About

My name is Matteo, I am 30 years old and I am half Italian half Austrian. Ever since I saw “Big Brother Bear” in my childhood, my biggest dream in life was to see the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. On February 15th 2023 my dream came true, changing my life forever. One member of our travelling group had a camera and showed me how to immortalize this moment, forever. Needless to say, I fell in love with photography and it became my second greatest passion (watching the Aurora dance in the sky is still to this day simply an unbeatable feeling!).

As of today I can bolster to have seen the Aurora Borealis over 25 times (a few of them even in Austria where I live), each time being more mesmerizing than the previous one! While learning how to photograph in low light conditions I also learned how to take pictures of the Milky Way and other galaxies in various countries in Europe.

My goals in 2026 are to purchase a proper nightscape star-tracker mount and to improve my skills in using proper lights to take better pictures.
